Description
This project reimagines the Umbro Velocita for its 10th anniversary, transforming the football performance silhouette for life beyond the pitch.
The red/black colourway, chosen as a nod to one of Umbro’s historic teamwear colour pallets, is treated with a wax finish inspired by vintage jerseys and worn tracksuits to create a subtle, used effect that enhances the 360° weave’s structure.
The heel and tongue are made from dark grey denim, embroidered with Japanese sashiko stitching by Caroline Hauff. The integrated tongue was modified into a traditional flapped version, and black waxed laces complete the look, adding texture and functionality.
The sole features a natural frame, brown midsole, and new outsole — a combination of streetwear style and durability. The mix of deep red, grey, and brown references 1990s teamwear nostalgia.
